Never without… my lists!

If you see Delphine Jossart diligently strumming her iPhone, she might be completing one of her many lists.
“I’ve been making lists all my life. Formerly on paper, now on Notes on my iPhone. Especially my professional to-do list is quite long. As IT Budget & Operational Services Manager I lead the Assets Stock Purchase (ASP) team, which supports the colleagues from IT with a whole range of administrative tasks. Among other things, we manage the internet and mobile phone subscriptions and the orders of software and hardware, solve operational problems…
In addition, I am the contact person for everything that has to do with the finances of IT Infrastructure, Datacom & Security (IDS) in Belgium. I form the bridge between the people who decide on the expenses of IDS and the financial managers, and I help to ensure that the budget is well managed.’
Overview
‘The combination of these two functions means that a lot of people come to me with all kinds of questions, via all kinds of channels: mail, telephone, Teams… It often happens that at the end of the afternoon I have to finish an email that I started in the morning, because I had to answer so many questions in between.
In order to keep an overview, I draw up lists. I also keep track of important events in the lives of my employees. In addition, I have a list of all the projects and ideas that I want to realize in the longer term. All these lists help me to clear my head, so that I can devote myself one hundred percent to my family at home.’
I’m going on a trip and I’m taking…
‘I even make lists for private matters. As soon as a nice gift idea comes to mind, I write it down. As a mother of three children – 8, 5 and 1 year old – I never leave on a trip until all the items on my checklist have been checked off.’
From literature to IT…
‘Because of my love for books, I started studying romance philology at the age of 18. I love the smell of paper. Because I didn’t want to teach, I obtained a master’s degree in information and communication technology after graduating. That’s how I ended up in the world of IT
My job today has little to do with my original love of literature. But I also really enjoy analyzing data and solving problems. And what I perhaps appreciate most are the fine colleagues. In addition to the fact that at Elia you can keep the balance between work and private life. When I hear others talk about their job, I often realize how lucky I am to work here!’
