Maryline works as an Investor Relations Analyst at Elia

Clear social purpose
Close relationship with investors and analysts
“As an Investor Relations Analyst at Elia, alongside the Head of Investor Relations I am responsible for maintaining close relationships with investors and analysts. I closely monitor financial market trends, prepare financial reports and organise investor meetings. We also use periodic reports (such as press releases and the annual report) to inform the financial markets about both Elia’s financial and non-financial performance as well as our future plans. This helps foster and boost investors’ confidence in our company and attract capital.
“I find it very exciting and challenging to work within a leading company in the energy sector. I am involved in the daily analysis of financial figures, market trends, regulatory developments and policies relevant to our industry. As I’ve only just started in this role, I’m being given the necessary time and onboarding support to get to grips with my job, and am committed to translating valuable insights in a concrete way for external stakeholders. I am determined to contribute to the growth of our company.”
Need for clear reporting
“In my job, I am very much surrounded by experienced colleagues who have the same mission and are happy to share their knowledge and expertise with me. This is much needed, as regulations in the energy sector change at lightning speed and are complex, such as the CSRD reporting rules or the EU Taxonomy regulations, which require ever more companies and organisations to report more on non-financial aspects. The environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspect is increasingly playing a crucial role for investors. Being able to properly highlight how sustainability is woven into the company’s DNA is vital.”
Finger on the pulse of current events
“In my role, it is very important to accurately monitor current events at both national and global level. Together with my colleagues, I keep my finger on the pulse of news and new trends in the energy sector and financial markets. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also important in my job, and my language skills also play a crucial role in communicating effectively in different languages and understanding various business and intercultural scenarios.
“It is precisely because communication and the exchange of information play such a big role in my job that I prefer office work to working from home. Indeed, during meetings and informal chats at the coffee machine, I amass a lot of valuable information about our company and the sector in which we operate.”
